Casa de Mouraz, Dāo Rosé 2019

Sara Dionisio and António Lopes Ribeiro are bravely rebuilding their 13 hectare estate in the Dāo region, after six hectares of vines were burned by a forest fire in 2017. Their wine warehouse and António’s ancestral family home, were also consumed by the blaze. We are delighted to be supporting their efforts by selling their delicious wines.

Their wines are celebrations of Portugal’s plethora of indigenous, and little known, grape varieties. This is a blend of Touriga Nacional, Jaen and Tinta Roriz (known as Tempranillo across the border). This refreshing dry rosé bursts with flavour – tangy cherries, redcurrants, hibiscus and mint.

At only 12.5% abv, it’s a perfect refreshing wine for summertime; it’s not just for the back garden, but for the dinner table too – pair it with salted fish, firm, unsmoked cheese and olive oil.

2019; cork; 11.5% abv
