Casa de Mouraz, Encruzado 2017
Out of stock
The Portuguese winemakers see Encruzado as their answer to white Burgundy. Certainly, established plantings of the grape variety show strong mineral character, and the ability to transmit terroir.
This is a great example of the variety. Opulently textured, with plenty of lemon pith and a hint of apricot fruit, distinct minerality, and a developing hint of smoke.
Sara Dionisio and António Lopes Ribeiro are bravely rebuilding their 13 hectare estate in the Dāo region, after six hectares of vines were burned by a forest fire in 2017. Their wine warehouse and António’s ancestral family home, were also consumed by the blaze. We are delighted to be supporting their efforts by selling their delicious wines.
