Clos de L’Élu, ‘Roc’h Avel’ 2019
Out of stock
Chenin Blanc based white from the Loire Valley, a real hot spot in the natural wine scene. A rich, powerful and mineral white. Bold lemon pith and green apple flavours, and surprising ripeness and potency… well integrated alcohol of 14%. Great with shellfish, cashew nuts or roasted white meats.
Clos de L’Élu is a 20 hectare estate, run by winemaker Thomas Carsin since 2008. He makes low intervention wines, leaving this wine on the lees for seven months, and adding fewer than 30 parts per million of sulphites ( the legal limit is 200). Thomas is young, energetic and unafraid to experiment, even if it means challenging (or breaking) some of the rules of the appellation. The name of the wine, ‘rock of the wind’, is the name of a small island off of Brittany.
