After the small 2017 vintage was reserved the cellar door, we were champing at the bit when we heard the 2018 was on the brink of release.
This is a fresh and fruit driven Champagne method sparkler. Perky and fresh, with bright lemony acidity, gently underpinned by baked notes of bread and pastry, the product of 15 months ageing on the lees.
From a social enterprise with ten acres of vines in Enfield. A team of 60 volunteers look after the vineyard as a community, including people with mental health support needs. After harvesting, the fruit is transported to winemaker Will Davenport’s winery, where Will uses stainless steel fermentation tanks and a low sulphite regime to bring out the bright fruit character.
