about us
We are two brothers with a passion for all things vinous and devotees of low intervention and natural wines.
Our eyes were opened to another way of making wine at the first Natural Wine Fair in Borough Market back in 2011, where we first encountered a vibrant subculture of small producers making wines that were distinctive and alive. Our interest became a passion, and our passion a compulsion, so in 2018 we decided to quit our jobs and get our hands dirty.
We spent that harvest volunteering on organic vineyards in New Zealand and Tasmania and discovered that great wine begins underground.
Anyone interested in wine quality (not quantity) gets interested in soil health. That’s why so many producers are moving away from systemic chemical use in the vineyard.
We only work with those who grow their own grapes and so have an active investment in the health and longevity of their vines and soils.
Our producers are hands-on in the vineyard to ensure healthy organic grapes and hands-off in the winery, to let the quality of the fruit do the talking. That means naturally occurring yeasts and sugars, minimal additives (including sulphites) and no heavy processing.
