It’s the most exclusive event in the hospitality calendar.
If you’re not in a couple, stay home.
If you are in a couple, come and sit on a tiny two-top-table, awkwardly adjacent to other couples, and stay for a maximum of 90 minutes so that the restaurant can turn the table. Eat fast, drink fast, and all the while proving to the waiting staff that you’re having a great time with the one you love.
We’ve never found either scenario much fun, so we’re going to do different. This is Valentine’s weekend for people who don’t do Valentine’s.
Come as you are – in ones or twos or threes or more. Be prepared to share a table or a bar built for four or five or six. Relax and unwind – there’s no tight time schedule. Just enjoy the food, the drink and the company.
“Wine is simple. Life is simple. It’s man that complicates, and it’s a shame.” (Bernhard Noblet, cellar master, Domaine De La Romanée Conti, France)
