About Domaine La Lauzeta Rosés
For the serious rosé lover – two serious dry rosés.
Two different vintages, two different shades, and two different flavour profiles.
Corteza 2023, on the left, is our best selling dry rosé. Pale pink in hue, rich and mineral in character, with refined aromatics – we get stone fruit (peach, nectarine), redcurrants and white flowers.
Jauzimen 2022, on the right, is a deeper in hue, and bottled without filtration, making it slightly cloudy with (a very) little sediment. A drought-affected year has yielded a thirst-quenching wine; it’s intensely fruity, the strawberry, raspberry and cherry character leaping out of the glass.
Both wines are made principally from Grenache and Syrah, with a small amount of Cinsault. In both wines, battonage (the stirring of the yeast cells in the tank) has added a creamy texture, making these not just perfect for the back garden or the beach, but also versatile food wines. Try them with salmon or oysters.
In 2015, Tom Hills bought two mature dry-farmed vineyards in the Languedoc, on the schist soils of Saint-Chinian, 45 minutes’ drive from Béziers. He combined them to create Domaine La Lauzeta, and immediately began organic conversion. He has quickly gained recognition, earning plaudits from such wine luminaries as Jancis Robinson, Jeb Dunnuck and Tamlyn Currin,
This pack consists of 3 x bottles of Corteza rosé 2023 (filtered) and 3 x Jauzimen rosé 2022 (unfiltered).
