About Alpamanta, ‘Breva’ Sauvignon Blanc 2020
From a young project in Luján de Cuyo, a high altitude sub region of Mendoza, Argentina. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes for this wine are grown at a soaring 1000 metres above sea level, offering warm days and cool nights – perfect for ripening grapes whilst retaining their acidity.
The resulting juice is fermented in amphora-shaped cement tanks, and matured for four months in old oak barrels, before being bottled unfined and unfiltered, hence its very cloudy appearance. We get notes of lemon and custard apple here, and a salty and wild character.
