About Cantine Orsogna, Pet Nat ‘Ramoro’ 2022
If you’re new to Pet Nat, it stands for Petillant Naturel, and is a traditional way of making sparkling wine, by bottling the wine before it finishes its first fermentation. The carbon dioxide released as the fermentation completes makes the wine (in they case persistently) fizzy.
From a worker’s co-op in Abruzzo, Italy, this is an unfiltered orange/amber wine, made by allowing the juice to rest on the deeply coloured Pinot Grigio skins. Nicely dry and balanced at 12% abc. expect notes of apricots, roses and bitter orange.
