About Domaine La Lauzeta Six Pack
Domaine La Lauzeta
After gaining a Diploma from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust, Tom decided to quit his job and make his own wine. He headed to the Languedoc in 2015, and bought two old vineyards on schist soil bases, from vigneron keen to retire. He combined them, founded Domaine La Lauzeta, and immediately began the process of organic conversion.
2 x Domaine La Lauzeta, Corteza rosé, vin de France 2021
An elegant shade of pale pink. This Grenache and Syrah blend has impressive texture, making it suitable for both the dinner table and the back garden. Redcurrant, peach, nectarine
2 x Saint-Chinian, Corteza red 2019
Vibrant blend of Syrah, with old vine Grenache, Carignan and Cinsault. This is Tom’s entry level red – young and boisterously fruity, with meatier notes of bacon fat emerging with aeration. with flavours of pomegranate, wild strawberry and damson. Bright acidity makes this a versatile food wine. Pomegranate, damson, wild strawberry
Saint-Chinian, Mezura 2016
Tom’s “second” wine is a blend of 60% Syrah, 25% Grenache and 15% Carignan. Aged in large French and Austrian oak casks, this is a full bodied but supple and deeply fruity red, with notes of ‘garrigues’ herbs. Some definite salinity here, too – hints of lobster shells. Blackberry, fennel, sage
Saint-Chinian, La Lauzeta 2016
The top wine from the same producer, made in the second year of organic conversion. This is deeper, darker, denser and meatier. The fruit has developed, with notes of dried fig and prune; the tannins have softened, but there is serious structure here, underpinning the Garrigue notes. Prune, lavender, thyme
