Touriga Nacional is one of Portugal’s better known and highly esteemed red varieties.

This particular wine is a welcome change from the heavily oaked and jammy examples often seen in the UK. In this 2023 vintage, Elisa Freire Lobo has made an elegant medium bodied wine, capturing delicate aromas of violets, blackberries and plums. There’s peppery hint to the palate, silky tannins and a soft, mineral and minty finish.
