Small batch Portuguese wine from André Duque Lourenç0, the smallest producer with whom we work, who produced a mere 10,000 bottles in 2021.

At 12%, this is the lightest of André’s reds, which we enjoy at cellar temperature. André tells us that Castelão is widely planted in Portugal, but rarely exported. This is the first one we’ve tasted, and it’s a distinctive treat – brambly and earthy, with notes of elderberry, blackberry and beetroot.

Try with medium fat dishes: soft cheeses, more robust salads or roasted white meats.
