Brett Hayes is so passionate about Grenache Noir in the Barossa that he wrote a book on the subject.

Now he’s extending his interest to Grenache Blanc, and planted 200 Grenache Blanc bush vines on his estate in Stonewell, Barossa. 2021 was the first harvest from this new micro block, an these 260 (numbered) bottles are an intriguing beginning.

Straw coloured, with notes of blossom, hay, chamomile and oak, and plenty of fruit – lemon, Golden Delicious apple and grapefruit, with some juicier, tropical hints on the palate.

Though only a refreshing 12% in alcohol, there’s a richness to the mid palate and an impressive length.
