About Lubiana. Chardonnay ‘Primavera’ 2021
Tasmanian land is much in demand in Australia. As the Australian mainland grows ever warmer (and drier), the (relatively) cool and (relatively) damp growing conditions of the island are sought after by enthusiasts of quality wine, who are in search of cooler climates and marginal ripening conditions.
Ste(fano) and Monique Lubiana got in ahead of the curve, planting their 25 hectares of vines in the Derwent Valley, near Hobart, in 1990. They have grown their grapes biodynamically since 2010, and raw quality of the fruit is evident in this medium-bodied Chardonnay.
Perfect for considered sipping or for enjoying with a range of medium-weight dishes (salads, pasta, white meat). We get notes of lemon, nectarine, vanilla, struck match.
