About Smallfry, Barossa Valley, Riesling 2011
This medium sweet 2011 Riesling has a superb balance between sugar and acid. Opulently aromatic, with note so white flowers, lemon, lime, peach and… as lovers of bottle aged Riesling would hope… petroleum.
Great with spicy Thai or Korean food – also surprisingly good with smoked or creamy cheeses.
Though the wine is in exceptional condition, the labels are damaged, as this wine has been stored for a decade in an old Cumbrian chalk mine. Within the mine was a munitions store, which once housed the bouncing bombs used by The Dambusters.
Enjoy a glass of history!
