About Smallfry, Barossa Valley, Semillon 2011
Don’t be put off by the label!
This is a superb dry Semillon, with great depth and weight. There are still fruity notes of lemon and green apple, and the time in bottle has added a texture akin to oatmeal, and some complex nutty notes.
Though the wines is in exceptional condition, the labels are damaged, as this wine has been stored for a decade in an old Cumbrian chalk mine. Within the mine was a munitions store, which once housed the bouncing bombs used by The Dambusters.
Enjoy a glass of history!
