About Bodegas Moraza, Rioja Tempranillo Blanco ‘Las Tasugueras’ 2020
Made from a rare white mutation of Tempranillo, this is a seriously classy white Rioja, which comes alive with a little aeration. We get bold lemon, peach and fennel flavours, with some mineral depth and a hint of smoke / struck match.
Janire Moraza is the sixth generation of her family to work the estate; her partner Patricio was making craft cider in Montreal when they met. They are reinventing Rioja. By harvesting early and keeping the alcohol levels lower, they are making the kind of fresh, fruity and unoaked wines Janire remembers her Grandfather enjoying.
