About Domaine de Courbissac, ‘L’Orange’ 2021

The name gives it away – an orange / amber / skin fermented / macerated white wine. All the rage with natural winemakers, orange wines have more body, weight and mouthfeel than most white wines – and they have tannin. Expect notes of bitter orange, along with some ripe stone fruit character in this clever blend, which marries the body of Marsanne with the aromatic uplift of Muscat, whilst early picking ensures good acidity.

This wine has enough weight to match a broad range of foods – try with meaty white fish, roasted chestnuts or smoked cheeses.

From a quality focussed Languedoc estate, and the smallest producer with whom we work, with a mere 6 acres of vines. Winemaker Brunnhilde Claux makes fresh but complex wines, using whole bunch fermentation and gentle foot treading.
