About Smallfry, Barossa Riesling 2017

An antidote to all the rich reds of the region, with a mere 9.5% alcohol. Residual sugar in this medium dry white balances the refreshing acidity.

Opulently aromatic, with citrus, stone fruit and white blossom notes, and a hint of kerosene, which will intensify as the Riesling develops in bottle.

Make a rejuvenating aperitif, or tempers the heat of spicy foods. It’s also fun with smoked cheeses and meats.

Wayne Ahrens and Suzi Hilder cut their wine teeth with Jacob’s Creek, but wanted to make small batch, low intervention wine, without using systemic chemicals. So they quit their secure jobs and took on an old, mixed planted, biodynamic vineyard in Vine Vale, Barossa, which had been tended for the previous 52 harvests by Ken Schlieb.

2017, screw cap, 9.5% abv
